A noted New Testament scholar once said that the aim of theological college was to train specialist in the Bible. For some that suggests an over emphasis on the academic study of Scripture with little or no concern for the application of its teaching to real life. Jesus points out that the first and greatest commandment is to “love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30). One implication of this command is that there should not be a separation between the mind and the rest of life. The authentic Christian life brings all of life into a relationship with God as he has revealed himself to us in the Bible. Consequently, the proper study of Scripture leads to greater worship of God and better preparation for life in the real world.

At Sunshine Coast Theological College our aim is to help you become better students of the Bible so that you can exercise your ministry in all areas of life, whether that be in the workplace, home or church.  In order to prepare you for a life lived in the light of God’s Word we offer courses with a theological emphasis and other courses with a ministry emphasis.
